Scarlett’s Pasta

Very easy dish and quick recipe I’ve got from the movie “Chef” starring Jon Favreau. A plate of spaghetti Aglio e Olio that Jon Favreau’s character serves to Scarlett Johansson in the movie. I actually did not try to make it until I watched cooking series “The Chef Show” on Netflix. On the season 1 episode 3. Jon and Roy (the real chef behind the movie) revisit the best dishes from “Chef” the movie, including Scarlett’s pasta. The recipe is very easy to make with humble ingredients, such as garlic, parsley and pasta.

So, here’s the full recipe (I made it for 2 persons)

Ingredients

Dried / fresh spaghetti for 2 persons
6-8 cloves of garlic (it actually depends on the size of garlic)
A bunch of parsley
A half cup of olive oil
25 gr of butter
1 tablespoon of chillie flakes
Salt and black pepper for seasoning
1 lemon
4 tablespoon of  Parmesan

Methods

First. Preparation

Sliced the garlic using the mandoline or very sharp knife, set aside. Minced the parsley into tiny pieces.

Second. Boil the pasta

Boil the water. If you use dried pasta, boil the pasta until al dente or about 10 minutes. If you prefer fresh pasta, boil the pasta for 2 minutes. Before draining the pasta, put some pasta water in a small bowl (we’re going to add it later).

Third. The cooking

Heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the garlic until golden, add chillie flakes, seasoned with salt and pepper, then quickly add the parsley. Toss the pasta until thoroughly coated with garlic oil and parsley. Add some pasta water, let it simmers. Squeeze the lemon. Remove pasta from the heat.

Your Scarlett’s pasta is ready to serve with some parmesan.
